‘Duck Dynasty’ stars sign a deal to be part of ABC’s “Sesame Street” series
CBS News has learned that the “Duck Dales” star Will Arnett has signed a three-year, $2.8 million deal to play part of the upcoming ABC series “Somosomosome” on the Sesame Street preschool network.
The announcement was made by Sesame Workshop on Wednesday morning.
“Ducky” is an all-new series created by Emmy Award-winning Sesame Series Producer and Executive Producer Mike Schurr.
“The show will feature a brand new cast of characters who have been reimagined by Soprano and his talented team of animators to create a fun, engaging show with a new sensibility and new dynamic that will appeal to the entire family,” Schurz said in a statement.
“I can’t wait to get started on this new adventure.”
Arnett joins a cast of stars including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Lautner, and Tim Robbins who have signed deals with ABC to appear in the new series.
“Sosomasome” will debut in 2016 on the ABC Family network and will debut on the Disney XD channel in the summer of 2016.
Arnett will reprise his role as Will Dales, a retired plumber who finds himself a new resident of a town with no name and no real name.
“My mom always said, ‘If you can’t tell where you’re from, you can never tell where to go,'” Arnett told CBS News in a recent interview.
“She meant it.
And now I can.”
In the meantime, the “Somesome” cast will be working to bring the series to life as the show’s new season kicks off this fall.
“When you’re working on something, you’re always working on it,” Arnett said.
“You never know what you might get up to next.”
