The Washington Post, in an effort to help make the Washington Post more accessible to readers across the country, is working to increase the diversity of the news team.
The Post is seeking more diverse voices for editorial positions, as well as for other positions.
We are looking for a diverse group of people to serve on our editorial board.
We have hired an outside consulting firm to help identify additional talent for editorial roles, as we look to hire more full-time and part-time reporters and editors.
To apply, please visit the new White Paper page and click on “apply” to apply for a position at the Post.
The White Paper is a new website created by the Post to address the diversity gap and to improve the experience for readers of the newspaper.
The project is part of a larger effort to improve how the newspaper delivers news, and is being led by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists and editors Laura Loomer and Jo Becker.
In the past, the White Paper has published stories on topics including the role of race and gender in policing, how a police officer killed by an African-American suspect has been portrayed, and a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act.
This time around, we are expanding the White Post to include more diverse perspectives and provide a platform for writers to share their thoughts.
The new site includes an editorial board that is comprised of diverse voices from across the Washington metropolitan area.
The board includes a diverse array of voices from members of the community, from high-profile Washington reporters to members of local media.
The team is also developing a new editorial advisory team to help guide the newsroom.
The work to create the new site is part a broader effort to increase diversity of perspectives in the newsrooms and the broader news media.
In order to help our journalists better understand and engage with readers, we have partnered with a nonprofit organization, The Post Writers Project, to identify and hire more diverse people for positions in the Washington Metropolitan Area, and to help create a more diverse newsroom culture.
We welcome applicants who are interested in joining our editorial team.
